Mini Remote Control (MRC) Compared to Microsoft RDP
MRC is designed to approximate the experience of “standing over someone’s shoulder’ while troubleshooting or providing technical support. It delivers features designed for session sharing and collaborative use, so the remote admin and user can interact together during the troubleshooting session.

Multi-monitor support
Version 5 and above of the DameWare Mini Remote Control (DMRC) program contains support for multiple monitor environments via the new Monitor menu or the Multi-Monitor toolbar. When connecting to a remote machine that has more than one monitor installed, the DMRC program will dynamically detect this configuration and automatically display the Multi-Monitor toolbar and the Monitor menu. These features allow the user to select each monitor attached to a remote machine individually, which will then be displayed over the DMRC connection. The DameWare Mini Remote Control program's unique Multi-Monitor implementation allows the user to view the entire Virtual Desktop. The DameWare Mini Remote Control program's unique Multi-Monitor implementation allows the user to view the entire Virtual Desktop regardless of monitor resolution or configuration.
Supports more than one active connection to WinXP
WinXP by design only supports one logged in user. Therefore, when an XP machine is accessed via RDP it must lock out the local user. MRC allows both the local user and the remote user to be logged in concurrently.
Supports more than two active connections on Server 2000/2003
Windows Server 2000/2003 only allows two active connections. MRC allows users to supersede this limitation.
Built in file transfer
The file transfer feature allows users to transfer files between the remote and local computers. MRC has file transfer built in to the product, in the main menu.
